Emily and Nathan

I took this picture of the kids when we got home from church on Christmas Eve. It's one of my favorites!

Kim's Mom

Esther is busy opening and showing off presents. Looks like Nathan may already be finished!

Wrapping Paper!

Kim's dad, Donald, couldn't understand why his present was wrapped in Christmas and birthday paper. When he saw the new cowboy boots, he quickly figured it out!

Christmas in Oklahoma

Now the kids are opening presents from Kim's parents and it's 2 days after Christmas. They both got OSU sweatshirts, although Nathan is the die-hard Cowboys fan. Maybe... Emily can be converted!

Over the River and Through the Woods

Really, it's just driving down the interstate highway to Grandmother's house we go! Corey and I have been very blessed to have such great travelers! Here they are doing their normal car activities.

Christmas in Greenville

When all of the grandparents live in other places, you get to celebrate more than once. Here Emily and Nathan open presents from Corey's family. Corey's mom and dad, Steve Ann and Robert, along with our nephew, Ben, are busy opening and passing out presents. Corey's brother, Todd, gave him a headlamp for hunting. He's already used it a couple of times!

Christmas at Home

Emily and Nathan get up early to open presents. Nathan got up the first time at 3:45 am! We managed to put him off until 5:00 am. Here they are opening their "big" gifts: a Coach purse and a PSP.

Every Christmas Eve, Emily and Nathan get to open one present. It's always pajamas so they'll look good in Christmas morning pictures! :-) Here they are getting and then wearing them.

Every year, we decorate cookies on what Nathan calls 'Christmas Eve Eve'. The kids look forward to it, and so do I. Here are Emily and Nathan in action. You can probably tell they've been sampling to make sure everything tastes good!

the Deck

We began building a deck in our backyard last winter. Here is Corey putting the final pieces in almost a year later. Weekend projects take us quite a while because our weekends are always full! The deck looks really great and the dog loves it!

Sassy, our 7-year old cat, seems to have fallen over in shock that I am actually going to iron! Really she lays like this all the time. Is there some hidden meaning?!

Busy December for Nathan

It's been a busy month for Nathan! He sang in the school choir this fall and had several performances during the month of December. Obviously, they are very cool kids!
Fourth graders at Nathan's school have Holiday stores where they sell products or services to others. (No, they don't use real money!) Nathan sold homemade fudge and clay figures.
At the class Christmas party, Nathan decorated a gingerbread man. He said it was too sweet for him when he was finished. Lucky for the rest of us or we might have been up all night!!

Chicago had the cows, OKC had the buffalo, and Austin, the Live Music Capitol of the World, has 10-foot guitars! In trying to Keep Austin Weird, we took a "snapshot" tour and tried to find as many as we could. We took pictures every where. Then we stopped at an Austin icon, Amy's Ice Cream, for a snack! Yummy!

Awww!!!

We sat down to watch our first Christmas movie of the year and look what happened! Maybe they do like each other!

Barbecue

Central Texas is known for its great barbecue, so Corey is on a quest to try them all. So far, we've remembered to take pictures at two of them. If Kim's not in the picture, does that mean the calories don't count?!

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving with Corey's family. The four cousins were ready for the Texas-A&M game! As you can see, Nathan is the rebel. He takes after his mom! :-)
