As much as Corey and I hate to admit it, Emily is growing into quite the young lady! We took these right before she went to her 8th grade formal dance. High school is just around the corner! =)
We all went to watch the bats fly out from Congress Avenue bridge. Nathan and Zach played catch while we were waiting. Emily, Zach, and Nathan posed in front of one of the guitars on display around Austin. This one is on 6th Street.
Our good friends, the Vrbas spent the weekend with us and we did 'Austin stuff'.Corey and Nathan are ready to "quack" on our Duck Adventure tour of Austin. Zach, Nathan, Corey and Rick are braving the 68 degree water at Barton Springs Pool.
Here we are as the Four Horsemen. It was lots of fun riding in the mountains! This road runner kept showing up in our campsite, chasing bugs. He was so adorable!
Here we are hiking and boy was it hard. It seemed like it was straight uphill. We are standing next to the Rio Grande River. Mexico is behind us.
Nathan and 3 friends went bowling and played Lasertag for his birthday. Then they at pizza and cake at home. At 1:45 am, I told them to go to sleep! You gotta love those video games!
Kim ran the AT&T Austin Marathon, her first! Here she is waving to Corey, Emily, and Nathan at mile 16.5. With the finish line in sight, she is determined to finish in spite of minor leg cramps. After 26.2 miles in 4:50:14, she is all smiles wearing her Finisher's Medal. It was a great experience and one she says she will do again next year!
Drago comes in each evening for playtime before he goes to bed. Here, he has his duck and Fluffy the squirrel. He had both in his mouth until he saw the camera, but he is still not going to let Duck get away!
Nathan celebrated Valentine's with a party at school. Here he is with his teacher and my good friend, Mrs. Miller. Nathan is having a great year in 4th grade!
Our baby turned 2!!! We celebrated Drago's birthday by wearing party hats and opening presents. He got rawhide pretzels and a squeaky squirrel named Fluffy. In the first two pictures he has his new squirrel and his old duck. Now he has 2 favorite possessions! (Sassy 'ran for the hills' as soon as Drago came inside.)
Who says it never gets cold in Central Texas?! We've had sleet, ice, and even a little snow! We've also missed 2 days of school/work. Everyone is ready to get back to normal!
